A therapist who speaks your language.
I am the owner and counselor at Misty Mountains Counseling, PLLC, a private practice offering counseling to adults and people in relationships. I prioritize working with folks from marginalised backgrounds, including the queer and transgender community.
I am a skilled relationship-builder and a warm clinician with a humanistic focus, and I work from a psychodynamic perspective. This means I'm genuinely interested in your life story — where you've been, how it shaped you, and what it means for where you are.
I engage in white accountability work and commit to anti-racism and decolonising therapy. These aren't just buzzwords for me; they inform how I show up in the room with every client.
I believe the stories we love — the games, the books, the shows, the films — are more than entertainment. They're the language we use to understand the human experience. And they're one of the tools I use to help you understand yours.

The values and approaches I bring to every session
Your past isn't just your past — it's alive in the present. I explore your life history, your relationships, and the patterns that formed you, so we can understand who you are right now and who you want to be.
You have more resilience than you know. The goal of our work isn't to fix what's broken — it's to uncover what's always been there. You're the hero of your own story. We're just getting you unstuck.
Your identity — your culture, your faith, your queerness, your family's history — belongs in the room. I work with anti-racist and decolonial frameworks because context is not a footnote. It's the whole story.
"Whether it's a video game, a book, a movie, or a TV show, we can use those references in our talk therapy to understand and change your hero's journey for the better."
Most of us have had the experience of recognising ourselves in a character — feeling that a story understood something about us that we couldn't quite articulate. That recognition is not coincidence. The stories we're drawn to often hold the language for things we're living through.
In our sessions, you're welcome to bring those references. The game that got you through a dark time. The novel that described your family perfectly. The show that helped you understand your own grief. These aren't distractions — they're a starting point.
From there, we use psychodynamic frameworks to explore what those stories illuminate about your life: the patterns, the wounds, the unfinished chapters. And we use that understanding to help you write the next one.
